Our Day Training service is divided into three levels, dependent upon your dog’s needs. Each level runs on Wednesdays for approximately five hours, with exact collection times confirmed upon arrival.

Level 1 – Foundation and Enrichment

Level 1 is designed for dogs without aggression or significant control-related issues. This level focuses on reinforcing existing training levels.

What is covered:

  • General manners
  • Basic exercises (reinforcing learned obedience)
  • Structured socialisation
  • Enrichment

Level 1 is suitable where owners may struggle with time restrictions or setting up meaningful socialisation scenarios. It is not overtly goal-driven, but intended to support and strengthen your current routine.

Level 2 – Control and Obedience Development
Cost: £90
Timings: Wednesday 09:15 – 14:15 hrs

Level 2 is suitable for dogs with basic control-based or obedience-related issues. It is not designed for dogs with aggressive tendencies.

What is covered:

  • Lead pulling
  • Recall
  • General control-related issues
  • Muzzle training (where appropriate)

Level 2 begins with an identified training issue, usually control-based. Many owners struggle to progress due to time constraints or difficulty creating structured scenarios, to assist this level allows for more focused and consistent work on specific issues and may be booked alongside 1:1 training sessions where appropriate.

Level 3 – Behavioural Cases
Cost: £150
Timings: Wednesday 09:30 – 14:30 hrs

Level 3 is designed for dogs presenting with developed behavioural issues. In most cases this involves inter-dog related aggression or significant control-related concerns. Elements of human-directed aggression may be considered on a case-by-case basis (please check prior to booking).

What is covered:

  • Inter-dog related aggression
  • Case-specific elements of human aggression (by prior agreement)
  • Significant control-based issues

Level 3 cases typically involve behaviours that are detrimental to both dog and owner. This level provides your dog with balance, and structure, within a secure and stable environment. Level 3 must be booked alongside ongoing 1:1 sessions.

Note: Training results vary from dog to dog. Realistic expectations are essential. Any form of training requires consistency and reinforcement over time. Day Training supports progress but does not replace owner involvement.Owners are required to remain contactable during the session.

About your dog trainers:

Vicky Naylor

Vicky has worked with dogs for over thirty years. Her journey began within a family environment of racing Greyhounds, which ignited her passion for dog training.

From a young age, Vicky rehabilitated and rehomed abandoned or “last chance” dogs, many of which later went on to live stable lives in permanent homes. She later progressed into both working dog and pet dog training. Her working dog involvement resulted in numerous accolades and competition standings, while in pet dog training she has instructed classes for over 15 years, the last 7 of which have been at WLCC.

In Vicky’s words, “I just want each dog to reach their own unique potential, whether that’s just the basics or more.”

Paul Davies

Paul had always wanted a dog growing up but was never allowed one. When he acquired his first dog, a female Rottweiler called Tear, his interest in obedience and structured training developed. She was followed by a male Rottweiler, Sampson, both trained to a high standard.

In 2020 Paul acquired his first Belgian Malinois, Reina, which introduced him to working trials. Since then, he has trained multiple dogs in both obedience and working disciplines, developing a practical and structured approach to his training methodologies.

Paul’s focus is on helping owners better understand their dogs and strengthening the bond between handler and dog through training. In his words, “I want to help people bond with their dogs and get the most from their training.”

Specialisms:

  • Reactive dogs
  • Drive building and channelling
  • Basic to advanced obedience and control training
